Kat knows the importance of fundraising.

“If we don’t have the funds, no matter how good our programs and services are,
we cannot sustain them and, in turn,
cannot help the people who need the support.”

With five years of post-secondary education in Montreal, Kat graduated from McGill University, where she earned a Certificate in Public Relations Management and a Diploma in Social Sciences with an emphasis in community and social services from Dawson College.

Kat has achieved the academic requirements for the Governance Essentials Program for Directors of Not-For-Profit Organizations via the Institute of Corporate Directors. She is an active member of the Canadian Association of Gift Planners (CAGP) Alberta North Chapter. In 2021, she joined the Board of Directors and led the Education and Programs portfolio.  Kat is also a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Edmonton and Area Chapter. She lends her expertise to teach the AFP Fundamentals of Fundraising. Kat is also Brene Brown Dare to Lead™ Trained.

A proud Edmontonian since 2004, Kat resides with her husband Stan and three cats, Kiki, ChaChi, and Little Buddy, all rescued from Infinite Woofs Animal Rescue Society (IWARS).
